Hooray, another great FIAB! Reveals didn't happen at the greatest time for me (hence also the lateness of this entry and the unrespondedness of many comments), but I still managed to enjoy some of the collection and comment on 61 works. (With the massive number of works produced, that's still only about 6% of the collection!) I left some recs here, including the three gifts I received, all of which I was absolutely thrilled with!
I don't remember if I did anything different in sign-ups or if the mods/circumstances were just good to me, but I ended up with only 4 assignments this time, which was much more manageable than many little things. In all I wrote 19k words in 4 different fandoms, all of different media types. (Actually, checking my records again, I wrote 19k last year as well - it just felt a lot harder broken up into 7 chunks!) After my experiments last year, I decided to stick with normal prose this time, and am happy with that decision.

[ Dr. Stone | Senkuu/Ukyou | Major Character Death | 3k ]
I am so happy I finally got to use this song to title a fic about Ukyou! Actually, I was just thrilled to see a Dr. Stone request pop up, and knew I had to write it. I adore Ukyou's strong sense of morality, but I was curious to explore it as a weakness, which I think is also how he sees it in canon. (Why do I call them Ukyo and Senku in the story, when I don't do that in my other Dr. Stone fic? Because the character Yo pops up, and I just couldn't handle calling him You. The rest had to be adjusted for consistency.)

[ Discworld | Vetinari/Drumknott | 3.6k ]
I find writing for this canon Very Intimidating, but overall I'm happiest with how this one turned out. The pieces came together quite naturally, and I enjoyed getting to spend time with these characters again.

kaiosea has blessed me with so many wonderful takes on this ship, I'm glad I finally got to attempt one back. The entire rest of the fandom tag has nothing to do with this pairing, so I feel like we've carved out an entirely different meta in our own little exchange ecosystem. Making up a new death game was surprisingly fun. Now I know why there are so many mangas about it? :D
Besides these four, I also toyed with writing a Wriothesley/Neuvillette treat, as I had become enamored with the pairing in the time since sign-ups/swaps. But my story ended up much longer and much more pre-relationship than I had anticipated, so I posted it outside the exchange. Interestingly the dates of the two chapters correlate very strongly with the two FIAB reveals delays. Both times that I sensed the delay coming, I diverted my energies into to working on another chapter of this to distract myself. Hence I somewhat count the 5k words I posted so far as another fruit of FIAB productivity!

Well obviously this prompt caught my attention. I feel I must be very obvious during the anonymous period, if people paid attention (though I bet everyone feels that way, heh). This almost took on a "Why was six afraid of seven?" gag, character naming-wise, but I forebore.
