Here are some general ideas for plotlines I love or prompts that I hope may spark further ideas:
I also have a general likes and dislikes post here.
20th Century Boys
Haru Namio & Maruo
Haru Namio, the voice of the evil totalitarian government, and his manager Maruo. Both have devoted their days and their talents to the service of the people they hate most - one downcast in the shadows, the other standing in the public eye with an inscrutable, perpetual smile on his face.
I became obsessed when we got that scene where Maruo is planning to bomb said evil totalitarian government, and Haru's only response is, "Don't worry about killing me in the crossfire." I would absolutely love to see some of the early days of their acquaintance, when neither is completely sure whether the other is completely on the same page.
Some outsider POV would also be wonderful here. Haru has made his wealth and fame by turning his passion to the service of the Friendship party, and it would be a natural to assume he's a true believer. I'd love to see this pair come across some rebel on the run, who naturally distrusts their motives for helping, but needs to rely on their discretion.
Eyeshield 21
Hiruma Youichi
For Eyeshield 21 prompts, please take a look at my FFFX and FIAB letter.
This time, I only nominated Hiruma in general, rather than any of the innumerable Himura ships that I prompted for in the above letter. I would gladly welcome any other Hiruma ship, platonic or otherwise, or solo adventures.
Dr. Stone
Note: the reason I only requested one / ship here (while the rest are &) is because I spotted it in the tagset and am 100% down. In general I'm happy to receive either platonic or shippy takes on pairings all around.
Asagiri Gen/Ishigami Senkuu
Gen and Senkuu are both so brilliant and so pragmatic, but in different ways. I love the contrast and complement of scientific genius vs insight into human psychology. I also love that smiley Gen is so crafty and cold-blooded, willing to defect to whichever side serves him better. Meanwhile, Senkuu's fanaticism for science turns out to be such a pure conviction in the ability of science to save humanity, that it manages to win over even Gen.
My personal take is that Gen is used to his relationships being only superficial, the kind he can create with social manipulation; those who know him better are likely wary of his abilities, and stay distant. In this era especially, he's established himself as someone looking out for his own hide, with no particular loyalty to any side, except the one that looks likely to win. That's why Senkuu bothering to keep his promise about the cola, when he in no way needed to, came as such a shock to him, when he himself was open to throwing the alliance away if it didn't look like it would serve him.
I'd love to see more scenes or alternate events during those early days, when Senkuu and Tsukasa are battling it out, and Gen is trying to decide which side to throw in his lot with. Maybe Gen thinking at first he'd be better off betraying Senkuu, or an AU where Tsukasa already has Senkuu captured? Or maybe the first crisis Senkuu and Taiju faced was accidentally making enemies of the locals, and so the first person they had to emergency wake was Gen instead, to help them broker peace? It would also be fun to see Senkuu and Gen as adversaries for whatever reason, how they might face off against each other, and eventually come to truce.

Genshin Impact
Cyno & Scaramouche
The events of the Sumeru storyline have changed both of these characters so much. Cyno has somehow turned his deeply held, lifelong convictions to a new god, and Scaramouche has tasted what it would have been like to become a god himself, only to come tumbling down. I'm really craving these two interacting in the aftermath. Perhaps Cyno takes on more responsibilities under Nahida's rule - including of their new guest? Perhaps Scaramouche sees Cyno as his new jailer, and does his utmost to bargain, threaten, or otherwise manipulate him, only for it to bounce off the implacable wall of Cyno's convictions? Perhaps Scaramouche escapes, and Cyno has to hunt him down? If things had gone differently, if Scaramouche had been able to become god of Sumeru, Cyno might have become his worshipper instead. I'm still so touched by how Scaramouche treasures his first devotee, Haypasia. It feels like besides all his other problems, he's really yearning for a connection, for someone to know him and accept him, and I'd love for him to find it in Cyno.
Beidou & Kaedehara Kazuha
I just think their personalities go together so well. The heartsick fugitive and the boisterous pirate captain willing to take anyone aboard - and put him right to work. Just the image of Kazuha leaning out over the water, trailing out wistful poetry to the leaves floating by, and Beidou striding around the ship, doing captain things, pushing back his despair just by being so loud and present and implacable. I really like the philosophy from Beidou's hangout - about doing favors and forming connections, and how that would apply when she first comes across Kazuha seeking to escape his pursuers. I'd love to see their first meeting, an interlude onboard, or a reunion some years down the line, after he's left her crew (but never her care).
Xiao/Zhongli
I am just so obsessed with stories about Zhongli saving Xiao from his old master. I love that Xiao was his enemy, "blood-drunk on agony", and Zhongli chose mercy over vengeance for whatever killings Xiao carried out at his former master's command. And I love that Xiao came from bondage, but chose to serve Zhongli over freedom, a loyalty and devotion that has remained for centuries. Whichever language Xiao you play, edgy or reserved, his one exception seems to be Zhongli, that he'll go from speaking with derision about others to insisting on the proper reverence for his lord. I would enjoy works about Xiao going on missions on Zhongli's behalf, or jumping to his defense somehow, or just Zhongli using whatever excuse he can muster to convince Xiao to get some well-deserved rest for once...
The Night Agent
Diane Farr &/ Peter Sutherland
This is probably not the pairing I'm meant to take away from this show, but I feel like there was so much unexplored potential here. Plus Diane is an incredible badass and I just want to see more of her! I loved Peter's eternal, shining faith in her, because she was the only one who had faith in him, and also because, despite his role as action protagonist, he really is just very innocent and idealistic. The boss-employee dynamic between them was great - how at the end of the day, when she told him to get in the trunk of her car, his instinct was still to just climb in. I would love to see more of these complicated loyalty feels, where Peter still wants to follow her no matter what.
Original Work [SAFETY]
Kind sadist guilty about desires/Willing but inexperienced partner (M/M)
Powerful Young Female Mage/Ancient Traumatized Magical Male Sex Slave She Inherited
New King/The Feared But Actually Kind Male Witch Whose Help He Needs (M/M)
Newly-Crowned Emperor of Fearsome Reputation/Foreign Prince Given to Him to Seal a Treaty
Terrified tribute with a secret/New warlord come to collect
Somehow all of these fill a similar iddy niche for me: basically two characters coming together with a ton of fear and baggage - either due to the situation, some reputation, or trauma - but are able to find something they need in each other. There's a lot of power differential here and I love for characters to be conscious and thoughtful of that dynamic.
In terms of setting, I'm happy for as mundane or as wild and fantastical as you like. I love original work that is filled with rich, even tedious, details of the characters' lives and surroundings, that make me feel like I'm really seeing a glimpse of a vast, lived-in world.
Here are some general ideas for plotlines I love or prompts that I hope may spark further ideas:
- A and B are forced to put aside their differences and work together; neither knows if they can fully trust the other.
- A is in a perilous position where only B can help; fears B has little reason to do so.
- An opportunity for A to demonstrate their deep and unquestioning loyalty to B.
- That moment when A sees/learns/realizes something that entirely changes their initial impression of B.
- Detailed descriptions or looks at some activity/profession/setting the creator clearly knows well.
- Alternate universe settings - cyberpunk, medieval, Antiques Roadshow - anything goes!
I also have a general likes and dislikes post here.
