highadrenalineexchange - Exchange Letter
Nov. 6th, 2020 09:03 pmDear Creator,
I can't believe you signed up for this. I can't believe I signed up for this. I'm so excited, and can't wait to see what you create! Below are some totally optional prompts for my requests for this exchange.
I also have a general likes post.
Eyeshield 21
Hiruma/Sena
I love the power imbalance and fear, of course. Sena is scared of just about everything, and Hiruma is basically the scariest person ever. But I also love how much Hiruma comes to depend on and trust Sena throughout the series, in his own way. This is someone who has never relied on anyone before, who by the end is staking the outcome of his most critical matches on blind faith that Sena will pull through. That's huge!
I love protective Hiruma, because I think he'd be terrifying. Sena is crucial to the team's success, and there's no way Hiruma would stand for anything that threatens that. Think he's terrifying as your captain? Try being someone who's injured his key player... Alternatively, some kind of plot where Sena is in trouble totally unrelated to football, and thinks Hiruma wouldn't care, but Hiruma steps in and takes care of things anyway?
I also love AUs for this fandom, especially if you could keep the dynamics of these two the same. A high fantasy AU, or a magical creatures AU, would be amazing! I also think it would be fun if these two flew a junky spaceship together a la Firefly.
Hiruma/Kid
I find Kid's character so interesting. How he's so talented and works so hard, and yet so pessimistic and sells himself short all the time. How he can be so terrified to admit to his dreams, or even trust when things are going well. I think Hiruma could help Kid gain some confidence, even if just by annoying him until he finally breaks down and admits things to himself. I also love the scene where Hiruma directly tells Agon that Kid is a better quarterback than he is. Kid needs someone who will brashly and in no uncertain terms defend his worth.
AU where Kid is an actual cowboy who sells his soul for his shooting ability, and finally Hiruma the literal devil comes to collect? Or maybe a "devil went down to Georgia" sort of thing where they have a shooting competition...
Habashira/Hiruma
The power imbalance in this relationship! Habashira having to run these errands and act as free transportation, until one day Hiruma has a heart and lets him go. What else did Hiruma make him do before that happened? :) :) :)
My heart broke when Habashira asked Hiruma what the difference was between them. They both motivated their teams with fear and threats, but what worked well for Hiruma totally failed for Habashira. I would love if Hiruma actually had some kind of response for that, e.g. flying in and kicking his whole team into gear.
One-Punch Man
Garou/Mumen Rider
I love the scene where Mumen Rider defends Garou from the Tank Tops. I just think it's absolutely darling. Garou is the evil hero hunter and incidentally way stronger than Mumen Rider. But in that moment, Mumen just sees someone getting ganged up on, and steps in—the kind of underdog sympathy that's exactly what drove Garou to declare himself a monster in the first place. I think Mumen is the one kind of hero that Garou could actually look up to: someone who doesn't have any unfair advantage, but who defends anyone in trouble, regardless of who it is or his own chance of success.
I would adore a fic where Mumen is actually in a position to help Garou somehow. Garou seems to bounce back from exhaustion every time, but after a point, I just want someone to scoop him up and take care of him. Bonus points if it's Bang that Mumen is defending Garou from. Bang is well-intentioned, but I'd love someone to take Garou's side against him for once.
Mumen has so much determination. I wonder if he could be in an extreme enough situation to break his limits too, like Garou? Alternatively, maybe Garou could take pity on Mumen and start training him?
Palo Santo
My promo post here.
Olly/Showman
I think the dynamics here have so much potential for exploration!
On a macro level: how androids have taken over, but the one thing they are missing they can only get from the humans that they pushed out. How android society seems to be so regimented, with the committees, and the forced retirement of showmen, and this ruling disembodied voice. (Alternate ending where Olly is in love with the showman and overturns the entire society to prevent him from having to be retired?? But I'm getting ahead of myself.)
On a micro level: how humans are scavengers living in the ruins, and how Olly seemed to want to be taken to Palo Santo, for a better life. How he has to perform on command, but seems to like it. How the showman is so captivated by Olly. Whatever form of control he has over Olly, it's not enough to get his affection (or even a high five, for crying out loud). But that's exactly what the machines want from the humans: this organic, squishy, emotion thing, that can't be regimented or reproduced in code.
I'd enjoy reading about their lives together in Palo Santo. Is it hard for Olly to adjust to the big city? Does Olly ever interact with other androids, off-stage? Do they ever go out to find more humans?
I'd love to know if Olly and the showman develop any closer relationship, or if they remain basically lion tamer and his circus animal. I'd love to read more about how the androids work, mechanically, and how hard it is for them to make sense of their differences.
I would also love some worldbuilding in this universe. How the android society functions. The moon cycles. Even early days of Palo Santo, set up as a place for humans to purchase androids, and how the world got to this point instead.
Original Work
Heroine/Ex-villain who is technically on her team now but still kind of terrifying (F/F)
Yesss, I am here for this dynamic. If superheroes, I'd love some creative/unususal superpowers. Maybe ex-villain's make her even more dark and terrifying? Either way, I'm interested in some action scenes/crimefighting where the heroine doesn't know if she can trust ex-villain at her back. Maybe being on her guard the whole time gets her injured, and ex-villain tells her off? Maybe they run into some of ex-villain's old comrades? I also want to know why the ex-villain switched sides! Did she have a change of heart? Or is she just biding her time?
Crew Of Aliens Who Are Terrified Of Humans & Human Stowaway On Their Spaceship (Any&Any)
Why are humans so terrifying? Is it some mythology that's been exaggerated, or do the aliens really have something to fear? Is the human terrified of the aliens too? Why did they stowaway, are they on the run from something, or are they actually trying to infiltrate this particular ship? Would love some worldbuilding/species-building here - the more alien the aliens are, the better!
Client Who Wants to Try a New Kink/Male Prostitute Who Really Needs the Cash (Any/M)
I'd love if the prostitute doesn't particularly care for the kink, at any point in the encounter. I'd also love it if the client wasn't purposely trying to be cruel, but doesn't particularly care one way or the other if the hooker enjoys it. In terms of what the kink is, I'd prefer if it doesn't result in any permanent damage or body modifications. I'm also very happy if the kink/sex doesn't happen for whatever reason, e.g. client realizes what a bad state the prostitute is in and just takes care of him :) :)
Cruel Deity/His Naive Worshipper (M/Any)
For this one, I'd love some smut where the worshipper is full of awe and gratitude and overjoyed to receive whatever "blessings" the deity chooses to impart. What makes the deity cruel? Is he won over by the worshipper's pure-hearted loyalty, or does he take full advantage? I'd also like to learn more about the setting. How many worshippers does the deity have? Why are the two of them interacting, is it some sort of ritual sacrifice situation? How much did the worshipper know about the deity coming into this, through legends or ancient texts, and were these legends accurate?
